November 2014

The Macomb Police Department is seeking information regarding a burglary to a residence. Sometime during the early evening hours on October 31, 2014 an unknown person or persons forced entry to a residence in the 200 block of North College Street. Several handguns were stolen in the commission of the burglary.

November 2013

The McDonough County Sheriff's Office and the Blandinsville Police Department are seeking information regarding a recent Criminal Damage. Some time during the overnight hours of Saturday, November 30 an unknown person or persons damaged the Veteran's Memorial on South Main Street in Blandinsville. Damage was caused by several eggs being thrown at the Memorial, staining the stone.

April 2013

The McDonough County Sheriff's Office is seeking information regarding several recent burglaries. Between December 15, 2012 and January 13, 2013 four residences were burglarized in the Industry and Adair area. Items taken in the burglaries included gold wrist watches, gold pocket watches, wedding rings, foreign coins, and confederate currency. One unique item stolen is a large clump of silver, formed from several silver coins melted together.

April 2013

The Western Illinois University Police are seeking information about a suspicious fire that occurred in the early morning hours of April 19, 2013. The fire was located just north of Brophy Hall and destroyed an equipment shed. Any information about this incident should be reported to the Office of Public Safety (309-298-1949) or to the Macomb Area Crime Stoppers at (309) 836-3222.

December 2011

Sometime during the night of Thursday, December 8th and the early morning hours of Friday, December 9th, an unknown person or persons forced entry to a residence on Gridley Street in Bushnell. Several items were then stolen from the residence. This included several flat screen TVs, jewelry and US coins. Also taken in the burglary were several firearms, including a AR 15 style rifle, a Ruger Mini 14 rifle, a Browning .22 caliber rifle, and a Browning 12 gauge shotgun.

November 2011

In the past several weeks numerous hunting items have been stolen in the rural McDonough County area. Items include, hunting stands, trail cameras, hunting blinds, decoys, and other miscellaneous hunting equipment. Thefts total thousands of dollars. Crime Stoppers and the McDonough County Sheriff's Office encourage residents to report any criminal activity in the rural areas.

Week of 12.7.09

Macomb Area Crime Stoppers needs your help in solving a recent theft of a John Deere compact tractor.

The theft occurred on sometime between November 19 and November 20, 2009 from a farm field at 22705 IL Route 95, near New Philadelphia. The tractor is a green 2003 John Deere, model 4710. The tractor has a front end loader and was attached to an auger at the time of the theft. The tractor was driven from the field to the roadway and has a missing amber light from the left side of the roll bar.

Sometime during the night of Thursday, November 26, 2009 and the early morning hours of Friday, November 27, 2009 an unknown person or persons stole a large safe from the Red Ox Restaurant. The stolen safe is made of cast iron, with a spin dial combination lock, measuring 20”x 20” x 20.”

Week of 11.23.09

Macomb Area Crime Stoppers is looking for your help in solving a recent burglary that occurred in rural Colchester.

On November 20, 2009 during the early evening hours unknown subject(s) burglarized a residence south west of Colchester on north 900 road. Several items were taken from the residence, including jewelry, money, and a DVD player. Sheriff’s Detectives believe the suspect(s) may have used a Trek Hybrid bicycle while committing the crime.

Week of 10.5.09

Macomb Area Crime Stoppers needs your help in solving a recent area theft.

Some time between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 on Friday, October 2, 2009 an unknown individual or individual’s stole a flatbed trailer on 900 east, south of Bellingham road in Bethel Township. The trailer is a black 20 foot, dual axel, home made flat bed with white spoke wheels and a treated wood floor. The trailer is a bumper hitch with a 2 5/16” hitch and a red jack.

Macomb Area Crime Stoppers is looking for your help in solving recent area thefts.

During the week of June 15, an unknown person or persons burglarized the STC storage facility on 1400 East, north of Macomb. Several locks were cut off of the storage units and several items were stolen. Taken in the burglary included a Sanyo T.V., Toshiba DVD player, an Onkeyo stereo system, Dell computer and monitor, and Craftsman tools.

An unknown person or persons also burglarized several boats docked at Argyle Lake during the same week. Taken in the burglary were several tools and fishing equipment.

Macomb Area Crime Stoppers is looking for your help in solving a recent armed robbery that took place at Ayerco West in Macomb.

At approximately 3:04 a.m., on 02/24/09 an unknown male subject robbed the Ayerco West gas station on West Jackson Street in Macomb. The suspect displayed a handgun and fled the area with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect is a larger male, wearing a red sweatshirt, blue jeans and had a grey handkerchief covering his face.

On January 29, 2009 at approximately 7:20 p.m., an unknown person or persons threw five glass bottles filled with flammable liquid into the Ayerco parking lot on west Jackson Street. The suspects then fled the area on foot and the fire was extinguished.

Week of 1.5.09

Macomb Area Crime Stoppers is looking for your help in solving a recent criminal damage that occurred in Sciota.

Sometime during the night of December 14, 2008 or the early morning hours of December 15, 2008, an unknown person or person(s) damaged several buses at the West Prairie High School in Sciota. Suspects deflated several tires on buses and other vehicles at the school and also caused damage to the lights on the vehicles.

Week of 12.19.08

During the early morning hours of Wednesday, December 17, a hand written note was left in the Leslie Malpass Library on WIU campus. The note alludes to a possible threat that could take place on WIU campus.

On the evening of November 21, 2008 at approximately 6:55 p.m., a senior couple was robbed near the intersection of Dudley and Piper streets in Macomb. Taken in the robbery was cash, traveler’s checks and several credit cards.

Two subjects dressed in black clothing fled the area on foot after committing the robbery.

Sometime between October 14 and October 16, 2008, an unknown person or person(s) stole several aluminum car wheels and several air conditioner coils from a property south of Tennessee.  The stolen wheels were from several makes and models of vehicles including Chevrolet S-10’s, Chevrolet Monte Carlo’s, a Pontiac Grand Prix and a Pontiac G6.

Sometime during the late evening hours of Saturday, March 26, 2008, and the early morning hours of Sunday, March 27, 2008, an unknown person or persons damaged several mailboxes in the 800 block of east Washington Street in Blandinsville. Multiple mailboxes were run over and damaged by an unknown vehicle. The suspect vehicle sustained damage during the vandalism and then fled the scene.

Macomb Area Crime Stoppers is looking for your help in solving a recent armed robbery that took place at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Macomb.

On 04/17/08 at approximately 10:50 p.m., an unknown subject robbed a female employee at gun point in the Kentucky Fried Chicken parking lot. The suspect was dressed in black and wearing a mask. The suspect then fled the area on foot with the businesses’ night deposit bag. Callers with any information will remain anonymous.

Week of 4.08.2008

Macomb Area Crime Stoppers is looking for your help in solving a recent vandalism spree that occurred in the Prairie City area.

Sometime in the recent weeks several road signs have been damaged in the rural Prairie City area. Suspects involved have spray painted several road and stop signs. Several signs were also removed from the ground and stolen. Suspects have also vandalized several windows in the village of Prairie City. Total cost of damage is estimated at over $1000.00.
